One of the biggest challenges for a school is creating buy-in for esports and gaming. As a parent or school board, you are obviously concerned about screen time, video games, and social media. Naturally, the idea of bringing video games and esports into a school will result in a knee-jerk reaction. It is easy to get defensive and argue, but what you should do is educate them. I, too, had to go through that phase, as I had fallen into a habit that many leaders do: worry about risk. Here's how I got through it and how I guided others through this hurdle of hesitation.
